Born on March 29, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio he had been a resident of Englewood for thirty-eight years coming from Cleveland. Locally he is known as having opened the well known Angelo's Pizza on Placida Road. It was here he invented the famous "Alligator Bead" which is still available today. When he first opened in Grove City, there were only four restaurants in town. He also owned and operated the Captain's Club on the beach for several years during the late 70's. Marty owned and operated twenty Angelo's Pizza Restaurants in Cleveland and surrounding areas before moving to Englewood. In 1971 he sponsored the ASA World Slow Pitch Softball Team named Genes Angelo's, and they were the champion that year. He also sponsored two other teams in Cleveland. Four years ago, former employee and good friend, Dave Kukula and son, Marty Redovan, Jr., organized a reunion in Cleveland for all the former Angelo's employees. Over fifty people from all over the state attended. He was a 1985 charter member of the Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary Club. He was a former board member of the Englewood-Cape Haze Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in getting the Texas Rangers to come to the Charlotte County Sports Stadium in the 1980's. Christmas was a big event at the Redovan home. For the past seventeen years his home was recognized by the local newspapers as the best decorated home of Charlotte County. Everyone who passed by on Placida Road could see his spectacular lighting display; it was the talk of the town for many years along with the huge Christmas Parties for employees, friends and Rotarians.
