Obituary of Richard Rita

Richard Rita, 54, of Port Charlotte went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at his Charlotte County residence. Born on October 1, 1953 in Blue Island, Illinois he had been a resident of Charlotte County for 20 years. Richard was a supervisor for the State of Florida Department of Corrections, a member of the K of C and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where he became a Eucharistic Minister, helped with the youth ministry, music ministry, and was previously on the Marriage Encounter Team. He had a passion for the Lord and spending time with his family while boating, fishing and camping. Survivors include his wife of 23 years; Kathy: children Richard Rita of Italy, Kristen Rita and Kelly Rita of Port Charlotte.: his parents; John D. and Rose V. (Pizza) Rita of Blue Island, IL: one sister; Nancy Rita and two brothers; John and Rep. Bob Rita all of IL. A Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 5265 Placida Rd. Grove City, FL 34224 with a Memorial Mass following at 10:00 AM. Luncheon with receiving of friends will follow in the Church Hall immediately after Mass.
