Obituary of Arlene Ruth Macciocchi

In Loving Memory of Arlene Ruth Macciocchi

Arlene, a beacon of love and warmth, departed this world on September 21, 2023, leaving a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was 76 years old.

Born in Chicago, IL, Arlene was the beloved daughter of Frank and Ruth Jankowski and sister to Kathy Jankowski (Wasielewski).  Arlene grew up in a close-knit family, where her compassionate nature and radiant smile endeared her to everyone she met.

Arlene's life was defined by her unwavering devotion to family. At a young age she married the love of her life, Fred Macciocchi Sr., on September 28, 1963, and together on their 60-year journey, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and were rarely apart. Their union was a testament to enduring love, an example for those fortunate enough to witness it.

As a mother, Arlene was a guiding light, offering endless support and nurturing to her children, Fred Jr. (Diane) and Vincent (Lisa).  Her home was a haven of love and support, where cherished memories were woven into the fabric of everyday life. Arlene's ability to infuse even the simplest moments with warmth left an indelible mark on her family.

In her role as a grandmother, Arlene's heart swelled with immeasurable pride and joy. Her grandchildren, Rachel Ennis (Clark), Bradley (Clara), Grant, Kayla, Fred “Freddie”, Andrew “Drew”, and her great-grandchildren Tayla Ennis and June Macciocchi, all were the apples of her eye. She relished every opportunity to share stories, offer sage advice, and shower them with affection.  Arlene also leaves a legacy of many beloved nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, cousins, and many dear friends.  Her influence will forever resonate in their lives.

Arlene loved to cook, bake, and make candy, and everyone received one of her special knit blankets

Arlene will be remembered for her boundless love, infectious smile, and her ability to make everyone feel valued. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her strength and positive outlook were endless as she battled through debilitating health issues.  As we bid her farewell, we find solace in the knowledge that her love will continue to guide us through life's journey and she is at peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Arthritis Foundation or COPD Foundation. A private celebration of life will be held for the family.
