Constance Grant O’Connor

April 4, 1929 – August 5, 2023

Constance Grant O’Connor of Sarasota, Florida passed away on August 5, 2023.  Born in Mamaroneck, New York, she was the daughter of Constance and Maxwell Grant.  She graduated from Mamaroneck High School and attended Barnard College of Columbia University in New York, N.Y.; and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of the State of New York.   She married her husband Francis L. O’Connor on June 28, 1952, and they raised their family of four children in Mamaroneck, N.Y.

She worked for several years in the Guidance Department at Rye Neck High School in Mamaroneck, N.Y. Upon retiring to Cape Cod, Massachusetts with her husband Francis, she settled in North Eastham in 1986.  She worked for the Cape Codder Newspaper for several years. In 2007 Constance and Francis relocated to Englewood, Florida to enjoy the temperate winter climate.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Francis and her son William.  She is survived by her sons Robert (Peggy) of Columbus, Ohio; Thomas (Camille) of Hinsdale, Illinois; her daughter Susan of Englewood, Florida; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her brothers Richard Grant of Mamaroneck, N.Y. and Douglas Grant of New Rochelle, N.Y.

Internment of her cremains will be at St. Thomas’s Church, Mamaroneck, N.Y.
