Obituary of Marie Minnie Rutherford

MARIE Minnie (née DeGiovanni) RUTHERFORD, 96, of Englewood, FL, died peacefully on August 16, 2023 in her home. Marie was born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 13, 1927. Before retiring to Florida, she lived many years in Pennsauken, NJ. Pre-deceased by her parents, Eva and Joseph DeGiovanni, her siblings, Josephine, Matt and Richard, her son, Thomas, son-in-law Tom Krzywicki, a grandson James Jr. and her dear husband, Ernie.

Survived by daughter, Pat Krzywicki, son James Rutherford Sr. (Lael), Grandchildren, Joe, Devon (Chris), Tommy and Bryan (Kat), Great Grandchildren, Julia, Isla, Etta, Charlie and Jolene.

Marie married Ernest Rutherford in 1949 and had 69 years of a very happy marriage.

She graduated and retired from Cooper Medical Center in Camden, NJ, for 35 yrs. Where she worked in many departments. She was a member of Temple Lutheran Church in Pennsauken, NJ, and Faith Lutheran Church in Englewood, FL, where she was a member of the choir in both churches. She also sang with the Fun Chorus and the Sun Coast Chorale.

Everywhere Marie and Ernie went they made wonderful friends. Their Happy Hours brought friends together and were known in the neighborhood. She was a fun loving, classy woman, ready for any adventure. She was loved by everyone who knew her and will be remembered forever.

A Celebration of Life for Marie will be held on Thursday, Aug. 31st at 11:30 am at Faith Lutheran Church, 551 Rotonda Blvd. W., Rotonda West, FL 33947.
