Obituary of Lois H. Folger

Lois H. Folger, 86, of Rotonda West, FL died July 25, 2023, at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, FL due to complications from a recent stroke. Lois was born in Bloomfield, CT on August 28, 1936, a daughter of the late Frank Hall and Grace O’Brien Hall. Lois and Allan spent most of their married life in Connecticut, snow birding to St. Petersburg, and finally retiring to Rotonda West, FL in 2008.

Lois is survived by her loving husband and soul mate, Allan. They had been married for 67 years and were inseparable. She leaves her sons Allan Folger, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Englewood, FL and Kenneth Folger of St. Petersburg. She had three grandchildren: Jeremy Folger and his wife Katrin of Bremerton, WA; Rebecca Erion and her husband Jake of Trenton, Ontario, and Scott Eckert of Englewood, FL; and three great grandchildren: Emma Erion, and Marcus and Wyatt Folger. Lois also leaves her brother Frank Hall and his wife Joyce of Edison, NJ, as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews in Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia.

Lois loved to sew, quilt and craft of any kind. She knitted hundreds of hats for the children at St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, South Dakota, and all who knew her are lucky to have a pillow, quilt knitted hat or Christmas ornament made by her loving hands, Lois was also an avid reader but additionally enjoyed spending time relaxing while watching Westerns on TV. Family and friends will never forget, and will always miss her epic banana bread, generously shared with all.
