Obituary of Kristin P. Gordon

Kristin P. Gordon, 76, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at her home in Rotonda West, Florida. Her loving husband Kendall, daughter Kelly, and son-in-law Jacob were by her side when she passed.

Born in New London, Connecticut to Hillis Spencer Peterson and Martha Cregar Peterson, Kristin spent much of her childhood in Long Island, New York with her sister Sigrid and brother David. She attended Becker Junior College in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she met Kendall, her husband of nearly 55 years. Many of their years together were spent in Rhode Island, where they raised their daughter Kelly. Kristin turned a couple of classes in graphic design at the Community College of Rhode Island into a career as a graphic artist in advertising, first for Blazing Graphics in Cranston, RI, then for RDW Group in Providence, RI. Upon retiring, Kristin and Kendall moved to Rotonda West, Florida.

From an early age, Kristin loved sailing, and she and Kendall kept sailboats at Pleasant Street Wharfin Wickford, Rhode Island for many years. Many of her most treasured friendships were forged while sailing and during picnics and barbecues at Pleasant Street. Kristin also loved entertaining friends and family in her home, cooking delicious meals and showering hospitality on her loved ones. Her creativity was expressed in everything she did; she was a sharp dresser with an eye for interior decoration and design, took beautiful photographs, and refinished furniture, giving new life to old family heirlooms.

In addition to husband Kendall, daughter Kelly, and Jacob, Kristin is survived by her brother David and sister-in-law Maile, sister-in-law Diane, brother-in-law Bill, and nieces and nephews Bill, Mike, Alyssa, David, Nathan, and Joshua. There will be a private viewing for family and close friends.
