Obituary of Carl Joseph Mack

Carl Joseph Mack, 97, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at Tidewell Hospice of Englewood, Florida. He was born on December 19, 1923 to Carl Mack and Rose (Halter) Mack in Caldwell New Jersey, where he spent his early childhood. During this time Carl earned many swimming and diving medals, as well as achieving the rank of 'Eagle Scout'. Upon graduating from High School, Carl enlisted in the Navy and attended officer school where he earned the rank of Lieutenant, proudly serving as an Aviator during WW II. After returning from active duty, Carl met and married Margaret 'Sis' Kerr, and began a career in the field of electronics while serving in the Naval Reserve until he was honorably discharged. In 1964 Carl moved his family to Anaheim California and continued his career in the electronics and computer industry. He also enjoyed many years of boating, golfing, snow skiing, and traveling domestically and internationally. When he retired from AST Research, he and his wife moved to Rogers, Arkansas to be near their family. Carl is preceded in death by both parents, and his beloved wife of 63 years. Survivors include: a daughter Linda (Mack) Allen; son-in-law William Allen; 2-granddaughters: Amanda McGinty (husband Rick McGinty) and Kimberly Allen; 2-grandsons: Logan McGinty and Brandon Sigurdson; niece: Cathy Kerr; nephew: Danny Kerr; extended family members and dear friends. Per his wishes, there will be no service. Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34238.
