Irene and Fred were our neighbors for many years on Amherst Ave in Falmouth. What a hoot she was! She made me laugh from a small child to just a few years ago when I visited with her in Florida. My parents the late Mel and Shirley Smith shared many memories on the heights and became very close with Fred and Irene. She had a contagious laugh and full of energy. She will surely be missed and I am very lucky to have had a neighbor/friend like Irene.

Irene was my 1st head nurse in the OR at Quincy City Hospital when I first graduated from nursing school in 1968. If it weren't for her I may not have survived the 1st year there. She was a character, a caring , supportive personality during the time the surgeons were intimidating. She gave me the incentive to make the OR a career path . Although she moved on over the years I've thought of her & those early years. Reading the previous tributes to her - her personality & kindness remained a lifetime. Glad she enjoyed a very fulfilling life. RIP , Irene

The Lentz Family is forever in debt to Irene and her nursing skills. She married one of Joe's high school friends and has been a close family friend to all of us. Her infectious personality and joie de vivre will be sorely missed.

She and Fred bought me peanut brittle when my braces came off when I was around 14 years old. She also bought me my first pair of Calvin Klein jeans. I used to come and visit my grandparents (Dr. and Mrs. Ambrose F. Finnell) on Pin Oak Way in Falmouth for a week or two in the summer. Irene and Fred were always very good to me! We had many laughs!

When Irene moved to Florida she purched a condo next door to Jeanne & Melvin Speier, Ron's parents. They developed a close relationship and from that moment on she was like family.
Irene had a very colorful personality. Spending time with Irene was always a happy friendly experience.
We loved her and she loved us, especially Ron in her eyes he could do no wrong.
Irene will be missed by our family.
In Irene's memory I would thank Irene's dearest friend and caregiver Susan Barrett, for her year's of friendship to Irene, through thick and thin. Susan was always at Irene's side, assisting with kindness and love.
We thank God for Irene and for wonderful memories.
