Obituary of Joyce Fitch Penningroth

Joyce Fitch Penningroth, 76, part-time resident of both Englewood, Florida and Eugene, Oregon died peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Terpening Terrace in Eugene, Oregon. Joyce was born October 11, 1933 in Wilson, New York to Dudley Fitch and Elsie Burrows. A graduate of Oneonta Teachers College with a degree in education; she was married to Harold Penningroth. He preceded her in death in November of 2000. They were married for 45 years. Joyce raised her family in Whitney Point, NY where she enjoyed numerous activities including; playing cards, bridge and Mah Jong, camping with her family, reading, and traveling. She will be remembered for her laughter, fun spirit, always being ready for a party or a card game, and finding the positive in everything. She is survived by four children; Philip Penningroth of Denver, Colorado, Sue Zink of Eugene, Oregon, Cynthia Zoubir of Aubagne, France, and Eric Penningroth of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren and four brothers. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 2 Pm until 3 Pm at the Englewood Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3070 South McCall Road, Englewood.
