Obituary of Madolin Z. Schmeiske

MADOLIN Z. SCHMEISKE, 69, of Port Charlotte died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at her Charlotte County residence with her loving family by her side. Born on June 2, 1940 in Hartford, Connecticut she had been a resident of Charlotte County for four years coming from Tolland, CT. Mrs. Schmeiske was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who took pride in her family. Lynn had a love of nature and especially her Rhode Island beach house where she resided until her move to Florida. She worked as a bank teller prior to retirement. While residing in Connecticut, Madolin was requested by and participated in many of the Rockville Hospital benefit shows. Because of her beautiful voice, she was often requested as a soloist. She was accomplished equestriatn who loved gardening, bingo and bowling. She is survived by her loving husband of forty-eight years; Gilbert L. Schmeiske of Pt. Charlotte, FL; one daughter: Lisa Julius of Pt. Charlotte, FL; two sons: Keith (Sheri) Schmeiske of Pt. Charlotte, FL; Gary (Helen) Schmeiske of Dedham, MA; one step-daughter: Linda Smith of Coxsackie, NY; two sisters: Nancy Smyth of E. Hartford, CT; Natalia Gaaaskell of Enfield, CT; one brother: Normand Cook of E. Hartford, CT; five grandchildren: Cote & Ian Julius; Ryan, Lauren & Jacob Schmeiske. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 PM to the Service time at 7:30 PM at the Englewood Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3070 S. McCall Road, with Rev. William Fisackerly, IV of Gulf Cove United Methodist Church, officiating.
