Obituary of Olindo Benedict Perugini

OLINDO BENEDICT PERUGINI, 88, of Rotonda West, FL died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Englewood Community Hospital. Born on February 11, 1921 in Pittsburgh, he served with distinction in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. Mr. Perugini worked for the D.L. Clark Candy Company in Pittsburgh for forty-five years prior to retirement in 1983. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, "Ollie" was also an avid fisherman, reader and sports enthusiast. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-one years: Helen T. of Rotonda West, FL; five sons: Gerald Nance of Frankfort, KY; Lawrence Gene of Florence, SC; Perry Lynn of Pittsburgh, PA; Gregory Matthew of Sicklerville, NJ; Alan Christopher of Pt. Charlotte, FL; and eleven grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 5 PM until 9 PM at the Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 So. McCall Road. Prayer service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 1 Pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2:30 Pm Friday, at Sarasota National VA Cemetery with military honors.
