Obituary of Sharron Schultz

Sharron E. Schultz (nee Rieck), 57, of Port Charlotte, died on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at her home. She lost her brave battle with cancer. Sharron was born in Highland Park, Michigan and lived most of her life in the Detroit area. Sharron graduated from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores in 1971. She went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University in 1982 where she was a "Merit Scholar." She worked for several accounting firms before finally teaching vocational business skills to adults. Sharron worked as a dedicated teacher for Lake Shore Public Schools from 1987 until 1997. In 1997 Sharron left Michigan with her family and moved to Englewood, Florida. She was employed as a Business Manager for Bay Harbor Ford from 1997 until her illness in late 2008. Sharron was also an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Englewood. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She loved her family, her church and looking for sharks teeth on the beach. Survivors include her husband David; son Jason of Englewood: her mother; Connie Rieck of Rotonda West: a brother; Bryan Rieck of Ardmore, OK. Sharron will be missed by her much loved grandson Jason Schultz, Jr. (JJ). She was predeceased by her father Morris Rieck of Rotonda West and a brother Morris Rieck, Jr. who died while serving in the Navy. Sharron was proud to call her many colleagues at Bay Harbor Ford as friends…especially Linda Powell who became the sister she never had. Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church located at 6970 Mineola in Englewood at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 21. A luncheon will be served immediately following the Service. Memorials may be made in her memory to Redeemer Lutheran Church Child Care.
