Obituary of Charles H. Finley

CHARLES HOWARD FINLEY, 88, of Englewood died Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Douglas T. Jacobson Veterans Home in Port Charlotte. Born on December 20, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York he served in the U.S Army during World War II from September 1942 to January 1946. He moved to Englewood in 1971 coming from Commack, NY. An automotive mechanic during most of his life, he worked for McCloud's Palm Marine in Placida for several years prior to his retirement in 1985. Charlie loved his family and loved to sing. Survivors include his daughters: Cathy Eisenberg of Fort Myers, FL; Karen Kauffman and Carol Babb both of Englewood, FL; and one son: Charles H. (Laura) Finley, Jr. of Englewood, FL; seven grand children and one great grandson. A memorial service and interment will be on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 11 Am at the Sarasota National VA Cemetery with Rev. Carl Kaltreider, officiating.
