Obituary of Mary Fernandez

Mary C. Fernandez, 90, of Venice, died peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2009 at Manor Care Health Services of Venice. She was born on December 15, 1918 in Palermo, Italy. Mary moved to Venice in 1993 from Staten Island, NY. She a member of the Senior Friendship Center of Venice and Seniors without partners. Mary loved to travel and enjoyed playing Mah Jong and poker. She worked for AT&T Long Lines for 28 years as an overseas telephone operator. Survivors include a son; Bernard Fernandez of Venice, FL., a daughter; Joyce Nollan of Staten Island, NY., 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Services will be held at the Hanley Funeral Home 60 New Drop Lane Staten Island, NY 10306 with Interment in the Moravian Cemetery on Staten Island.
