Obituary of Robert Rhodus

Robert Lee Rhodus Robert L. Rhodus, 76 of Rotonda West, FL died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at his residence. He was born August 1, 1932 in Anderson, Indiana. Mr. Rhodus moved to Englewood, FL 37 years ago from Toledo, OH. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW and the Knights of Columbus. He retired from the US Post office after fourteen years of service. After his retirement he enjoyed working at area golf courses as he was a lifelong avid golfer. Bob was one of the first presidents of Little League Baseball, and was instrumental in building the first baseball field for the Little League in Englewood. Bob was a volunteer for the food outreach program and a Eucharistic minister at St. Francis of Assisi church for over 20 years. Survivors include his wife Judy Rhodus: his brothers; Walter (Grace), Donald (Carolyn) and sister Susie (Butch) Faust. His children Don, Jim, Barbara, Ronald, Deann, Tom (Sandy) and Shawn (Kathie). He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Bobby, Audra(Jeremy) Seirra, Kayla, Rachel and one great grandchild Semmy. A celebration of life tribute service will be held on Monday, June 8 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Grove City.
