Obituary of Rex Carter

Rex Arthur Carter, 88 of Englewood, FL died Monday, May 18, 2009 at Englewood Community Hospital. He was born June 6, 1920 in Oolitic, IN to Audie E. and Myrtle (Ray) Carter. Mr. Carter moved to Florida 24 years ago from Bucyrus, OH where he retired as a manager of J.C. Penny Company after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Englewood and served as an Elder. Mr. Carter enjoyed serving his community as the Head of the Foxwood Assoc. Security Force and the Foxwood Condominium Assoc. He was a member of the Shriners Shaib Temple of the Masonic Order, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. Rex served in the US Army during WW-II. Survivors include his wife of 68 years; Maxine and his daughter; Linda Carter and her husband Patrick Hardesty of Kennett Square, PA. A Memorial Service will be held at the Community Presbyterian Church on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 2 PM. Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the Community Presbyterian Church 405 S. McCall Rd. Englewood, FL 34223.
