Obituary of John H. Jackson

JOHN H. JACKSON John Howard Jackson, 88, of Englewood died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Englewood HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 9, 1920 in West Hampton Beach, New York to Howard and Inanda (Hanson) Jackson. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He was employed by Gruman Aircraft in Bethpage, NY. Mr. Jackson moved to Charlotte County in 1984 from Bayshore, New York. His hobby was wood working and he was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years: Ann M. Jackson of Englewood, FL; one daughter: Laurie (Joe) Pulito of Palm Harbor, FL; two sons: Harry (Rosemarie) Jackson of Port Charlotte, FL; James (Nancy) Jackson of North Port, FL; six grand children and six great grand children. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 2 PM until 4PM and 6 PM until 8 PM at Englewood Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3070 South McCall Road. A Prayer service will be said at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Inurnment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice & Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34238 in memory of Mr. Jackson.
