Obituary of William Carr

William Stanley Carr, 56 of Port Charlotte, FL formerly of Monroe, MI died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at his residence. He was born January 13, 1953 in Highland Park, MI to Rolland C. and Arline B. (Davidson) Carr. Mr. Carr moved to Florida 8 years ago. He retired from the Ford Motor Company after 20 years of service. Bill was proud to be the Mayor for the Day of the Englewood Pioneers in 2007 and was recently installed as a Prelate of the Gulf Coast Moose Lodge #2554, He was the Past President of the Englewood Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #3885, Past Men's Auxiliary President of the Englewood VFW #10178, and a member of the AMVETS #312 and the Rotonda American Legion #113. He also enjoyed fishing, boating and collecting light houses. Bill truly enjoyed living in Florida and being surrounded by his many good friends. Survivors include his loving companion of 9 years; Karen Borgman and her son Jeremy: one son; William (Myrna) Carr, II of Sterling, VA., one daughter; Danielle (James) Hydro of Woodbridge, VA., one brother; Richard (Ella) Carr of Winchester, TN., two sisters; Suzanne (Rick) Ward of Trenton, MI., Wendy Carr of Leslie, MI and three grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Sat. May 9th at 4:00 PM at the Englewood VFW Post 10178.
