Obituary of Joseph King

Joseph King, 89 of Port Charlotte, FL., died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Douglas t. Jacobson State Veteran's Home in Port Charlotte. Born March 13, 1920 in Livingston, IL. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during WW-II. He worked for the Chicago Transit Authority for 30 years as a Bus Driver. He has been a resident of Charlotte County for 31 years coming from Chicago, IL. Mr. King was a Life Member of the Englewood VFW Lodge Post 10178. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is survived by his two daughters; Susan (Ron) Hoffman of South Port, NC. Linda Pollock of Port Charlotte: two grand children; Steven (Julia) Hoffman, Christina Tally and one great grand-daughter; Chloe Sue Hoffman. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years; Sophie in January 2007. A Memorial Service by the VFW will be held at Englewood Community Funeral Home, Inc. 3070 S. McCall Rd. on Monday, March 30 at 4:00 PM.
