Obituary of Pete Mattenley

PETE MATTENLEY Pete Mattenley, 67, of Englewood died Monday, February 16, 2009 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Born on September 29, 1941 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to the late Floyd and Helen (Nugent) Mattenley. He had been a resident of Charlotte County for eighteen years coming from Holliston, Massachusetts. Mr. Mattenley retired as an educator with a large company in the computerized printing industry. More recently, he was a driver for Florida Rock in Punta Gorda. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2378 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3885 both in Englewood. Survivors include his loving wife of nineteen years: Joan E. Mattenley of Englewood, FL; two daughters: Michelle Speece of Marengo, IN; Stacy Mattenley of Corydon, IN; three step-sons: David Gentili of Lynn Haven, FL; Steven Gentili of Rome, ME; Keith Gentili of New Boston, NH; one sister: Beverley Cowan of Burlington, Ont., CA; one brother: David Mattenley of Albuquerque, NM and thirteen grand children.
