Obituary of Richard Rossi

Richard S. Rossi, Sr. Richard (Dick) Rossi, Sr. 72 of Englewood, FL passed peacefully Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Tidewell Hospice House in Englewood, FL with his immediate family and his sister, Susan by his side. He was born in Fitchburg, MA to Geno A., Sr. and Veronica (Roy) Rossi. Dick was a disabled veteran of the United States Air Force and enjoyed gardening, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the DAV JFK Chapter 44 in Boston, MA and the Gardner Deer Club. He leaves behind his loving and caring wife; Patricia: three children Dr. Pamela Rossi Bernhardt of Paoha, HI, Cheryl Slattery of Gardner, MA and Richard Rossi, Jr. of Sturbridge, MA. Dick is also survived by two brothers; Kenneth of Belchertown, MA and Thomas of Fitchburg, MA: three sisters Diane Thomas of Fitchburg, MA Jane Ferrazza of Westminster, MA and Susan Zangarine of Englewood, FL: four grandchildren whom he loved and thoroughly enjoyed; Matthew and William Slattery and Jonathan and Stephanie Rossi. He was predeceased by his parents: one brother Geno A. Rossi, JR and two sisters; Beverly L'Ecuyer and Barbara Orsini. Dick had many friends in both Fitchburg, MA and Florida and will be surely missed. He was Dick…enough said. A Memorial Mass and burial will be held in Fitchburg, MA at a time to be determined by his family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Rossi's name to: Tidewell Hospice & Palliative Care 5955 Rand Boulevard Sarasota, FL 34238. Dick and Pat would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December of this year.
