Obituary of William David Kvaternick

William David Kvaternick was born February 5, 1970 to William and Charlene Kvaternick in Sterling, CO. He died on March 19, 2023 surrounded by family. He was a resident of Englewood, FL for 19 years. He is survived by his two sisters, Mary Gowing and Valerie Kvaternick, his daughter Brooke Kvaternick, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Growing up, Bill had two passions in life, the outdoors and technology. As a young man in Colorado Springs, CO, he loved going four wheeling in the mountains in the family’s Jeep Commando, camping, doing donuts in the snow, and tying flies and fishing. He also had an early talent for programming computers, mechanics, and understanding various technologies and tools.

While in Colorado he met his then wife Lynn McAdams and they were blessed with a beautiful daughter Brooke. Family was important to Bill and he was always involved in Brooke’s life and wanted to keep her connected with other family members. There were birthday and Thanksgiving celebrations in New Jersey and Christmas and summer celebrations in Colorado. It was important to him to keep her connected with family. He also supported Brooke’s academic and athletic endeavors. From watching her receive a number of academic accolades as well as being named Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year in 2013, to going to her softball practices, games, and tournaments. He even took her on a special trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY.  He was very proud of her.

While in Florida, Bill began his career in the propane industry and developed a passion for boating, fishing, hunting and exploring on his ATV. He enjoyed his morning swims in the Gulf, time spent outdoors, and time with his friends. And yes, he was still doing donuts, only in the sand!

We can all take a lesson from the strength and desire to live that Bill exhibited throughout his battles with cancer. He had a positive attitude and fought against all odds; he would not acquiesce to cancer’s calling.  Join us in celebrating Bill.
