Port Charlotte, Florida – Anthony “Tony” John Giustra, passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer on April 14, 2022. He was born and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He served in the US Air Force from 1955-1959 and continued his love of aviation for the rest of his life. Tony joined the FAA and worked as an air traffic controller/supervisor. In 1995, he retired as a regional manager in Honolulu, Hawaii. After retirement, he continued his love for sailing and golfing. Tony was the proud captain of his 43 ft. Inadaze sailboat. While in Hawaii, Tony met the love of his live, Nancy Giustra and married her in 1995. Tony spent his life with Nancy as a snowbird living in Cross Village, Michigan and Port Charlotte, Florida. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Florence Giustra, and five siblings: Charlie, Ann, Bill, Mae, and Joan. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Giustra; five children: Kathy Giustra, Chris Moyer, Steven Giustra, Steve Powers, and Teri Borton; ten grandchildren: Ryan, Ariel, Bryan, David, Kasey, Brady, Bennett, Austin, Kyly, and Ty; and two great-grandchildren: Emily and Daniel. The Funeral will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Grove City, Florida at 9:30AM on Friday, April 22, 2022 with a Celebration of Life following at 10:15AM. In honor of Tony’s love for golf, we suggest the men wear golf shirts.
