Leslie Dedrick

Obituary of Leslie Elaine Dedrick

On March 5th, 2022 Leslie Elaine (Tombeno) Dedrick, age 63, of Englewood, Florida passed onto the gates of heaven earning her angel wings. She gave a valiant fight after undergoing immediate open heart surgery a few days before. Sadly, her body was too weak to recover from the extensive surgery. Her beloved husband and loving daughter were by her side when she passed.

Leslie is survived by her, husband Richard W. Dedrick & her daughter, Katherine W. Tombeno, both of Englewood, FL. She is also survived by her sister, Meredith Nicholson of Venice, FL & her brother, Paul Tombeno of Lynn, MA as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Leslie was predeceased by her parents Leonard E. Tombeno & Dorothy W. (Burlingame) Tombeno and her brother, Mark Tombeno.

Leslie was a longtime resident of the Englewood area after moving down from her hometown of Lynn, MA in 2001 with Richard and Katie. She absolutely fell in love with the area after visiting her dear friend, Kathy Spielman. Leslie and Richard were married in July 2002 and together, as a family, they built a life of love and happiness together. She was so proud of her daughter, Kate, and her many accomplishments. Leslie absolutely loved her family and the friends that became family to her. Leslie was a loving wife, mother, sister & friend with a smile that could light up the room. Those who knew Leslie well, knew she had a sharp tongue at times and wasn’t afraid to tell you how she felt. Leslie spent much of her career in the bar/restaurant industry to which she made many friends along the way. She enjoyed the last few years of her career in the bakery at Publix, where she retired from. She was an animal lover who also enjoyed crocheting, coloring and baking cookies and banana breads for those she loved. She leaves behind many wonderful memories for many of us and will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Englewood, FL on Sunday May 1st, 2022, at Katie's house starting at 12:00 noon. Please contact Katie or Richard for the address or any questions.
