Obituary of William Guy Allen

On Saturday, April 24, 2021, William G. Allen Jr. passed away at the age of 70. Bill was born on February 18, 1951 in Lakewood Ohio to Violet and William Allen. He was married to Luann Cupp-Allen for 40 years, and was the proud father of two daughters, Elizabeth and Rebekah. He was an active member of his community as President of the Kiwanis Club, the Macklin Institute, and Sycamore Golf Club, and was co-owner of Spencer Patterson Insurance in Findlay Ohio. Bill's motto was work hard and play hard. From his childhood paper routes to reeling in a big fish, Bill's determination always shone through. A lifelong athlete, he was a star baseball player, a high school wrestler, and an avid golfer and racquetball player. He retired to Englewood, Florida, where he spent his days fishing on the open water, writing poems and short stories, and jigsaw puzzling. Music was a constant in his life, from cranking Metallica on the boat to singing oldies in the car. William was preceded in death by his father William Sr and mother Violet. He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Allen-Williams and Rebekah Allen-Schwartz, his six siblings Barbara Allen-Louden, Joanne Allen, Stacy Allen-Siftar, Rick Allen, Joseph (Pepe) Allen, Margie Allen-Husk, and his sweet cat Lily.
