My memories of Joan were of the first eighteen years of friendship in our early years through elementary school-high school in Galeton, PA. We had a gradulating class of 22 and was the last class to attend that HS building on the hilly north side of a valley around PIne Creek on Route 6 in Galeton; the town with the theater that went downstairs to get to the balcony; another flight of stairs down to the ground floor. Acoss the street there were buidings with upstairs to get to the cellar. Joan lived with her mom and dad in their home on that same side of town as the HS. Joan and I both learned to play clarinets in elemenary school and played them together in the HS band. We learned to square dance and attended dances in Harrison Valley, often dressing alike and pretending to be twins. Finally, we chose well each discovering special guys from Westfield, PA, to spend our married lives. Now the obit picks up; there were many memories already gathered, stashed away. RIP, Joan.

One of my favorite memories of Joan was watching her wrap Christmas presents in the gift store. She could make it look so easy and it always came out beautifully. Joan was such a loving person and the way she wrapped seemed an expression of that love to family, friends and customers. We were so lucky to have Joan, Dick, Harry and Rick as our neighbors and friends. I like to think a little bit of Joan's love lives on in all of us. May God's love and peace be with you all,
Dave

Joan was more than just a neighbor to us. In fact she was always a second Mother to me, and Grandma to my two daughters. Our hearts are broken. God bless you, and give you peace Dick, Harry, and Rick.

Joan and Dick, the wonderful grandparents of Jen invited our staff (Laurel RA staff) to spend the day with them at Keuka Lake. 12 of us were treated like royalty by this beautiful caring mother/grandmother. It was easy to see the love this family shared not only for themselves, but all who were in their presence. Thank you for sharing your family with us, and God Bless them all.

My son was born in 1983 and my daughter was born in 1987. She sent a beautiful congratulations card with a personal note saying " You now have a rich man's family. "
As an RN and Nurse Practitioner, I had taken care of one of her family members and she couldn't thank me enough. I had her husband for math at Canisteo. She was a wonderful, sweet lady.

Dick and Joan treated us just like family whenever we would visit them at Keuka Lake or with our boys on Halloween night as we'd trick-or-treat in Canisteo. Joan was such a wonderful hostess, a Grandmother-figure to us all, someone who truly made us feel welcomed and loved. We will always cherish those memories and the way she made us feel. Our deepest sympathies to all the McInroy family as you process this loss. We pray the Lord will comfort your hearts, and give you peace and joy by remembering all the wonderful times you've shared as a family. From Dave, Danielle and the Peters Boys
