Obituary of Judy C. Allen

Judy Allen, 70, of St. Petersburg, Florida and Morganton, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 in Port Charlotte, Florida. Judy was born December 19, 1949 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Antonetta Flori and Louis Paolino of Cranston, Rhode Island. She worked for many years as a registered nurse eventually taking her career to the St. Petersburg area where she met the love of her life Thomas J. Allen who predeceased her. Judy and TJ eventually settled in a lovely home in St. Petersburg where they enjoyed sailing and hosting many dinner parties and Sunday afternoon football gatherings. An avid Buccaneers fan, Judy cheered loudly every game sometimes to the chagrin of her neighbor across the canal (He was a Packers fan). Judy hosted a birthday dinner every year for each of her close friends encouraging them to choose their favorite dishes and dessert. The birthday honoree was required to wear a crazy yellow hat while everyone sang happy birthday. It was always a great time. Her birthday dinners were only surpassed by her Thanksgiving and Christmas parties. Her Christmas tree decorations had a different theme every year and she always decorated it on her birthday, a tradition she held dearly from her childhood. Judy's love of people was matched only by her love for dogs. Besides her own (Bogie and Tilly who predeceased her and Abby and Gabby), Judy regularly watched her friends' and neighbors' dogs in both St. Petersburg and Morganton. Although Judy passed away at the age of 70, she will always be 39 in our hearts. We know heaven just got a little louder. Besides TJ and her parents, Judy was also predeceased by her sister Marie Paolino Alfred of Narragansett, Rhode Island. Judy is survived by her sister: Barbara Paolino Badarak of Riverside, CA; nieces: Ami J. Flori of Yucca Valley, CA; Stephanie Alfred Hilliker (Brian) of Portland, OR; nephew: Michael Alfond of Blooington, IL along with many loving cousins and friends including but certainly not limited to Helen, Lisa, Tanya and Denise. She is also survived by David (Kelley) Campoli of Port Charlotte, Florida who Judy always considered her son. She was a fabulous doting grandmother ("Nanny") to Katie Campoli to whom she taught many wonderful things and took on many adventures. She was predeceased by her grandson David Chase Campoli who she helped take care of after his unfortunate accident. Nanny loved her Chaseman. Judy will be interred with her loving husband TJ at Sarasota National VA Cemetery at a later date.
