Obituary of Gerhard Peschke

Gerhard Artur Peschke Gerhard A. Peschke, 80, of Rotonda West died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Englewood Community Hospital. Born on May 9, 1928 in Bad Wilsnak, Germany he came to the U.S. in 1953 with his wife Lilli settling in Milford, DE and later moving to Philadelphia, PA becoming an automotive technician specializing in foreign cars. He and Lilli became U.S. citizens in 1958. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in Mr. Peschke's name to the American Cancer Society 2801 Fruitville Rd. Sarasota, fl 34237 or the American Heart Association 2975 Bee Ridge Rd. Sarasota, Fl 34232. Gerhard enjoyed his garden and growing orchids, fishing, hunting and hiking in the Pocono's. He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Lilli Peschke; two sons: Gary (Merafe) Peschke of North Port, FL., Kurt (Karen) Peschke of Port Charlotte, FL; one granddaughter, one grandson and one great grandson. A Memorial Service will be Held on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 4:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
