Obituary of Michael J. Connor

MICHAEL J. CONNOR Michael Joseph Connor, 70, of Englewood died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Tidewell Hospice & Palliative Care in Venice surrounded by his family. Born on December 17, 1938 in Boston, Massachusetts he had been a resident of Charlotte County for eight years coming from Weymouth, MA. Mr. Connor was a cable splicer for Nynex (now Verizon) for thirty-eight years prior to his retirement in 1995. During that time he was the business agent for IBEW Local 222 for about ten years. He was a member of the Rotonda B.P.O.Elks Lodge 2710, Englewood Eagles Aerie 3885 both in Englewood; Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2252 and American Legion Post 294 both in MA. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Survivors include his loving companion: Betty Lou MacKay of Englewood, FL; three children: Michael Connor of Milbury, MA, Christopher Connor of Weymouth, MA, Kerry Grenier of Pembroke, MA; two sisters: Margaret O'Connor of Marshfield, MA, Catherine Dowling of Plymouth, MA; one brother: Deacon John Connor of Norton, MA and three grandchildren. Services will be private.
