Obituary of John Werger

John Richard Werger John Richard Werger (95), born May 28th 1913 in Garfield, New Jersey to John and Teresa Werger. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from New York University. He was employed for 30 years by the Wright Aeronautical Division of Curtiss Wright, his final position, Engineering Manager of Production Liaison. He also had a degree of Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University. He was married to Mabel Ossi Werger. They lived for twenty years in Glen Rock, New Jersey. After retirement, they became Florida residents, and summered in Montauk, New York. After Mabel Werger's death, John bought a house in Rotunda West, a golf community. John loved the outdoors and was a life member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the Nature Conservancy and was a member of the Executive Committee of the newly formed East Hampton-Shelter Island chapter of the Nature Conservancy. He was an avid skier and for over thirty years spent three to nine weeks in Aspen annually. He is survived by a nephew, Arthur L. Werger in Athens, Ohio and a niece, Susan Werger in Roseburg, Oregon.
