Obituary of Eleanor Pierce

ELEANOR K. PIERCE Eleanor Pierce, 90, of Englewood died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the Tidewell Hospice & Palliative Care in Port Charlotte. Born on April 29, 1918 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Frederick and Louise (Grosholz) Klein, she had been a resident of Charlotte County for fourteen years coming from Upper Darby Township, PA. Mrs. Pierce had been employed by the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) in a clerical position and then retired from Gimbels Department Store in Upper Darby in 1965. She was a FISH volunteer and a member of the Englewood United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and homemaker for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 2001. Survivors include her two daughters: Louise M. Kitchener of Englewood, FL and Joan Williams of Drexel Hill, PA; one sister: Josephine A. Ardizzi of Warminster, PA; four grandsons and five great grand children. Funeral services will be in Drexel Hill with burial in Fernwood Cemetery, PA.
